Venice is a city in northeastern Italy and the capital of the Veneto region. It is called by various names due to its unique features.

It is called the City of Water because of its canals. In fact the city is built on a collection of 118 little islands in the centre of the Venetian Lagoon and is crossed by hundreds of canals, about 150.

It has been called the City of Bridges due to the presence of more than 400 bridges that permit to cross its canals and connect all the city.

It is also known as the City of Gondole, which is the most famous and romantic means for experiencing the city. Gondola is the symbol of the city that has made it recognizable all over the world.

Venice is also called the City of Lights but its impossible to describe the reason you should be there when the sun goes down and city transforms into wonderful illuminated city.

Reasons to Visit Venice

Venice, has a unique beauty as well the the canals and bridges that already distinguishes it from most places. Slanted buildings and towers everywhere, grand “Piazzas” or squares, chipped concrete plasters revealing aged bricks, clothing lines stretching from building to building, the boats, the narrow streets, flowers and balconies.

Venice has long been a source of inspiration for authors, playwrights, and poets, and at the forefront of the technological development of printing and publishing. Since the 19th century Venice has become a fashionable centre for the rich and famous whom often stayed and dined at luxury establishments such as the Danieli Hotel and the Caffè Florian.

Unlike most other places in Western Europe, and the world, Venice has become widely known for its element of elegant decay. The city has become a major centre of international conferences and festivals, such as the prestigious Venice Biennale and the Venice Film Festival, which attract visitors from all over the world for their theatrical, cultural, cinematic, artistic, and musical productions.

The combination of Natural features, culture, transportations and food makes Venice a romantic travel destination.
